MTV Movie Awards

So, reading the list of winners and nominees for the MTV Movie awards has made me cry for America. We have truly lost our sense of taste. Twilight won Best Movie, beating out The Dark Knight, Iron Man, and Slumdog Millionare. Really, Twilight won in most of the categories. I highly object to it winning best fight scene over the fight over Gotham in The Dark Knight. And I think Sean Penn and James Franco totally deserved to win Best Kiss for Milk. I mean, comeon, we've been seeing impossibly beautiful heteros kiss on screen for ages. And James Franco makes a really hot gay guy. I mean, I was on a bus filled with 30 queers from Grinnell when I watched Milk, and every single gay man on that bus was pining for Franco in that role. That's gotta count for something.

Anyway, point is, MTV Movie Awards, you have killed any lingering hope I had for American Pop Culture. I'm going to go cry now.

[edit] Well, you did do one thing right MTV - you dropped a man dressed as an angel wearing nothing but a thong on his lower half on top of Eminem causing him to storm out in a fit. Well played MTV, well played.
