"Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition is reporting a person was shot in Memphis, Tenn., on May 27, for “misrepresenting his gender,” as the assilant Terron Taylor said. The victim, identified as Kelvin Denton, is in critical condition after being shot in the nose and throat. This is the sixth such incident since 2006. Taylor is using the “trans panic” defense."

The fact that "trans panic" is even a viable defense makes me feel so sick I could vomit. What kind of fucked up place do we live in, that people are so homophobic and gender normative, that when they "find out" that the person they've been hitting on has a dick they need to resort to violence. You know what you do if you're not into it? WALK AWAY! No one is forcing you to stay or have sex with them. Seriously.*
