I went to a lot of great workshops. The ones I chose were mostly trans or gender identity centered. I went to a great one about how the short film form is particularly suited to trans films. A filmaker named Raymond Rea showed us a few short trans films and talked about them. It was really cool, especially since some of us in the audience had taken film classes and could make substantive comments. I also went to a workshop about how to lead trans education workshops. I went to 5 workshops total, and they were all really well done.
Aside from that, it was a really great environment to be in. I felt like I could really be myself. One workshop had everyone go around and say their name and prefered pronouns. How sweet is that? Also, all the bathrooms were made gender neutral. No more feeling uncomfortable when using the restroom! Especially while packing.
All in all, it was an amazing experience. Though, unfortunatly, becuase of a commedian that performed after the first keynote address, I will now always think of the GBLT community as the Gay Bacon Lettuce and Tomatoes. Lulz.
Also, I ment to post this a while ago, but last week, I made a packer! I followed these steps
. Anu and Soren helped me out, so it was roomate bonding time! Whee! It actually feels surprisingly lifelike. Who knew, all you need to make a realistic feeling dick are unlubricated condoms, hair gel, and a nylon stocking. Of course, it doesn't look real at all, but you can't see it when it's in my pants or cute new briefs. ^_~
